When the time comes, your pet comes home.

Pet Cremations is a family-owned pet cremation service in Hope, Indiana, serving families in Columbus and the surrounding area.

When your pet is cremated with us, the cremation is private — your pet, and only your pet. The ashes are returned to you in a simple, dignified container, within 48 business hours in most cases.

We know this is a hard day. Our job is to make this one part of it gentle, clear, and handled with care.

How it works

Three simple steps.

1. Call us, or send the short form. Call (812) 900-1888 any time. If we miss you, leave a message and we will call you back. You can also start with the Request a Pickup form — day or night.
2. We pick up your pet. We serve families directly, and we also pick up from veterinary clinics and funeral homes throughout the area on regular routes. If your pet is at a clinic, tell the clinic you'd like Pet Cremations — or call us and we'll coordinate with them.
3. Your pet comes home. Ashes are returned within 48 business hours, in a cardboard container that's included in the price. Urns are available if you'd like one, and we can engrave a name or a few words on it.

Private cremation, in plain words

Private means your pet only.

Some cremation services cremate several pets together. We don't do that for our private service. Your pet is cremated alone, and the ashes you receive back are your pet's ashes. That is the promise this business was built on, and it's the same promise today.

If cost matters more than receiving ashes back, we also offer a cremation-only option — see Pricing & Services.

The areas we serve

We're local, and we're already on the road near you.

We pick up from homes, veterinary clinics, and funeral homes in: Columbus · Hope · North Vernon · Madison · the Seymour area · the Nashville area — and the communities in between, across Bartholomew, Jennings, and Jefferson counties.

Our regular routes run to Madison by way of North Vernon on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and around Columbus on Tuesdays and Thursdays. If you're not sure whether we reach you, call and ask — if we can get there, we will.

Family-owned

A family business, in every sense.

Pet Cremations has served this area for more than 30 years. Our family — Hiram and Tashina Tame — became its owners in February 2026. Tashina runs the day-to-day work, and she's the person you'll most likely talk to when you call. We're not a call center and we're not a franchise. We're a local family, caring for local families' pets.

If you need us tonight, call tonight.

Grief doesn't keep business hours, and neither does a phone message. Call (812) 900-1888 and leave a message, or send the Request a Pickup form — we will get back to you as soon as we can, and we'll take it from there, one step at a time.
